Noblesville Schools has been consistently recognized as a top 1% STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) school in the nation. The award-winning NHS Applied STEM department offers students the choice of 14 different classes that focus on hands-on, real-world applications.
Art
NHS students have the opportunity to explore creative learning through 16 different courses offered in the Art Department including photography, painting, ceramics, art history, digital design and more.
Business + Computer Science
Whether you're dreaming of launching your own business or coding the next big app, our Business + Computer Science Department courses are designed to equip you with real-world skills for tomorrow’s challenges. From mastering entrepreneurship and marketing strategies to exploring the power of computer programming, you’ll gain hands-on experience that brings ideas to life. English Language Arts
Students in English Language Arts learn to think critically through reading a variety of texts and novels as well as writing in many forms such as analysis, argumentation, and narrative. Students are provided with opportunities to engage deeply through standard coursework as well as selecting Honors, AP, Dual Credit, and choice literature and composition classes.
The English Language Arts department also houses the NHS Journalism program, one of the top programs of its kind in the country, and the award-winning NHS Theater program. Family and Consumer Sciences
Student interest in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department has grown in recent years and NHS now offers several pathways to explore for personal and career development. Students can take coursework in Culinary Arts, Nutrition and Education Professions.
Math
The NHS math department offers 15 course options for a variety of math skill levels and interests including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics and reasoning. Honors, Advanced Placement and dual college credit classes are also available.
Music
Noblesville has been named a national best community for music education and the NHS music department offers 27 different courses to further music learning including choirs, orchestras, jazz bands, marching band, piano, guitar, music history and more. Resource
The NHS Resource Department has a comprehensive structure that creates flexibility for individualized Special Education programs and supports based on student needs. The focus of the Resource Program is the Indiana Employability Standards. With these standards in mind, supports are in place to assist students with academic, vocational and behavioral skill gains, so they can achieve their post secondary education, employment and independent living goals. Science
Honors, Advanced Placement and dual college credit classes are available as part of the 20 classes offered by the NHS Science Department. Students have the opportunity to study traditional subjects such as biology, chemistry and physics, as well as additional options in anatomy, meteorology, astronomy, environmental science and zoology.
Social Studies
NHS students have the opportunity to explore the world around them through 20 different courses in the Department of Social Studies including economics, history, government, psychology, law and more. Honors, Advanced Placement and dual college credit classes are also available.
Wellness
With 14 different course options, the NHS Wellness Department offers learning beyond traditional physical education classes. Students are also invited to explore aerobics, yoga, aquatics, lifesaving, strength training, sports medicine and more. Classes focus on promoting and sustaining a healthy, lifelong lifestyle of physical, mental, and social wellness.
World Languages
NHS prepares students as global citizens with listening, writing and reading methods in French, German and Spanish. Each language pathway offers four levels of advancement including Honors, Advanced Placement, and Heritage Language options, and offers an interconnected multilingual view for life and career development.
